Privacy Policy

The short version

0xRoulette is a browser-based roulette simulation and strategy backtesting tool. It is not real gambling, no real money changes hands, and it pays out nothing. There are no accounts, no logins, and no sign-ups. We do not ask for your name, your email, or any payment information, because we have no use for them.

The data the site touches falls into four buckets: localStorage on your own device, optional analytics you switch on yourself, limited advertising on substantial editorial pages, and routine server logs from our host. The rest of this page explains each one.

What we store on your device

Most of what the site “remembers” lives in your browser via localStorage and never leaves your machine. We do not receive a copy. Specifically:

• Theme preference: whether you chose light or dark.
• Cookie-consent choice: whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we don’t ask again on every visit.
• In-game state: your simulated bankroll, spin history, and any strategy work, so a reload doesn’t wipe a session.

This data is yours. Clearing your browser storage for this site erases all of it. We cannot read it remotely and we never transmit it anywhere.

Analytics, and how it stays off by default

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to see which pages people actually read. It is fully consent-gated: the GA4 script does not load at all unless you click Allow analytics on the cookie banner. If you choose No analytics, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics code runs and no analytics cookies are set.

When analytics is enabled, it is configured conservatively:

• Google Signals is off: we do not request cross-device or demographic reporting.
• No advertising or remarketing features are used. We are not building an ad audience.

We use the result only in aggregate (page counts, broad traffic patterns) to decide what to write next. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site’s storage, which resets your consent choice and re-shows the banner.

Display advertising and advertising consent

We use Google AdSense on a narrow set of content-rich pages: the Research index, individual research studies, and Physics. The AdSense loader is not served on the home page, simulator, About, Support, Privacy, Terms, Disclosure, or Contact pages. We do not place display advertising inside the roulette simulator.

Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, device information, and ad-interaction data to provide, measure, personalize, or limit ads, depending on your consent and region. Those technologies are controlled by Google and its partners rather than by the simulator. For visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, our server withholds the AdSense loader unless Google’s certified IAB TCF consent-management flow has been enabled. When enabled, that separate Google message is the control for advertising consent; the small 0xRoulette banner controls optional analytics only. Refusing advertising consent does not prevent access to any content or simulator feature.

Affiliate links

Some pages contain Amazon Associates affiliate links (tag 0xroulette-20). If you click one, you leave this site and land on Amazon, at which point Amazon’s own privacy policy governs what they collect, not this one. We disclose the relationship in full on the Disclosure page.

Hosting and server logs

The site is served through Cloudflare. As part of delivering and protecting the site, Cloudflare may process standard server logs (such as IP addresses and request metadata) for security and operational purposes. This is ordinary infrastructure logging, not something we use to profile visitors.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent personal data. We have essentially none to sell.
• We do not load display ads on the simulator or low-content business/legal pages.
• We do not operate our own remarketing pixel or fingerprinting system.
• We do not create user accounts or persistent identifiers tied to you.
• We do not require you to give us any personal information to use the simulator.

Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data a service holds about you, and to object to certain processing. In our case the honest answer is that we hold almost no data tied to an identifiable person: there is no account record to export or erase. The data that exists is in your own browser, under your own control, and you can delete it yourself at any time.

For EEA, UK, and Swiss visitors, the Google-certified consent message controls advertising where ads are eligible, while the 0xRoulette banner controls analytics. If you have a privacy question or request, email contact@0xroulette.com and we will respond.

Children

0xRoulette is intended for an adult audience (18+) and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. The subject matter (modeling the mathematics of gambling) is not appropriate for minors.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and move the “last updated” date above. Material changes to analytics or tracking will also be reflected in the consent banner.
